The selection of advanced audio algorithms allows customers to select differentiating features for their products from noise cancellation to sound enhancement.
Wolfson Dynamic Hearing has extensive experience in developing DSP algorithms and application software for the hearing aid market. Following a modular structure within a central DSP framework, the team are able to provide all the software functionality required to develop new hearing aids.
Our software solution is the easiest way to gain access to a full featured hearing aid technology set while allowing the flexibility to configure the features to your preferences. As well as DSP software, our solution includes application software and complete technical documentation.
Improved knowledge about the physiology and mechanics of hearing, combined with advances in implantable technology has fed the development of novel implantable devices beyond cochlear implants and traditional bone conduction hearing aids. Having worked with a variety of implantable devices, with multiple transducer types, Wolfson Dynamic Hearing is familiar with their unique engineering challenges, and has solutions available for this type of hearing application.
Many of Wolfson’s hearing aid algorithms have previously been adapted for use in implanted devices and we have the experience to provide advice to new customers about how to achieve the best results with their product idea. In most instances, fully customised sound processing software is required for optimized performance.
Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) and Personal Sound Amplifier Products (PSAPs)
Addressing multiple needs, assistive listening devices and personal sound amplifiers can supplement hearing aids and implantable devices, or work as a replacement to them. They can be used in one-on-one or group conversations; for telephone communication; and for improved reception of TV, radio, PC and MP3 audio. They must overcome the effect of distance and/or the effects of background noise.
Depending on the application, ALDs and PSAPs may combine algorithms originally designed for other applications such as Bluetooth headsets or hearing aids. In most instances, fully customised sound processing software is required for optimized performance. Wolfson Dynamic Hearing has previously adapted algorithms for use in such devices and is well positioned to provide advice to new customers about how to achieve the best results with their product idea.
