We know what we like. A favoured bottle , an admired painting, a memorable meal. In learning the nuances of wine production, discovering more about the life of the artist or discovering the personality of the chef, we gain a deeper appreciation and subconsciously connect with the mind of the producer. A journey into fine audio can provide just such stimulation.
Like fine wine, fine whisky, fine art, fine cuisine, opening yourself to fine audio takes you on an emotional journey of discovery. The simple act of listening to a favourite music track on a high quality system and discovering something new in the recording provides an acoustic workout for the brain and may just let us glimpse into the inner recesses of human soul.
Like all finer things in life audio is a matter of taste. Taste can be refined through education and experience. I am a relative novice in the world of fine audio but I have taken my first tentative steps. I will gladly provide guidance to those who wish to follow and take direction from those farther ahead.
