Principal Test Development Engineer
We are looking for a Test Development Engineer at a Principal level to mentor / coach less experienced members within the team. You will be responsible for the development of production test solutions for high volume manufacture of complex mixed-signal semiconductors. You will be Working with the design and development organisation in the development of new test techniques/methodologies and their adoption within the company.
Desired Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you will have the following skills / experience:
- Linear/analogue background.
- In-depth knowledge and development experience on production mixed-signal IC testers
- Knowledge of Teradyne Catalyst, Teradyne Ultra-Flex or National Instruments testers desirable
- Schematic entry
- Advanced knowledge of PCB layout
- Extensive experience in development of mixed-signal test techniques.
- Data analysis software
- Advanced understanding of bench test equipment
- Advanced understanding of audio and/or power management test techniques

Principal Software Engineer (Edinburgh or Newbury)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Software Engineer to join our highly professional team.
Main requirements for the role are:
- A solid track record in designing, implementing and debugging Linux device drivers on recent Linux Kernels (v3.x)
- Proven C skills with C++ experience being advantageous
- A strong understanding of essential aspects of rapid software development such as source code management, review processes and code quality
- An ability to work well under pressure, to learn fast and work both as part of a team and independently.
The following skills would be advantageous:
- An understanding of Android, Linux ALSA, Linux ASOC and the Linux Driver Architecture

Mechanical Engineer - Senior/Principal (Edinburgh)
We are seeking innovative and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer (Senior or Principal level) to join our highly professional team in Edinburgh. In this role you will provide technical leadership for packaging within the product development cycle and the supply chain to enhance cost, opportunity, package reliability and quality.
You will work closely with the Supply Chain Partners to understand industry developments that they have packaging roadmaps that align with business needs and thus defining the packaging roadmap.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor packaging roadmap of other IC manufacturing companies to ensure that packaging roadmap is aligned with emerging technologies.
- Develop manufacturing solutions for new package technologies.
- Adopt cost effective IC packaging technologies to ensure lowest cost product offerings
- Develop database and standard customer data set for each package including package drawing, PCB footprint & manufacturing recommendations in order to improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and monitor design guidelines and process flows for all existing packaging options ensuring all processes are current and adhered to.
- Develop methodologies, design guidelines & process flows for new package technologies ensuring the transfer of knowledge and skills to the relevant departments.

- Communicate effectively across multiple groups.

Design Evaluation Engineer (Edinburgh)
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior/Design Evaluation Engineer to participate in the creation of evaluation solutions and the characterisation of new and innovative products.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for the supervised evaluation and characterisation of prototype integrated circuits including:
- Development and debug of electronic hardware to support device evaluation
- Development and debug of software to support device evaluation
- Prototype integrated circuit debug
- Performance optimisation of new devices
- Detailed understanding of evaluation test methods
- Able to identify chip related problems
- Writes technical reports to support evaluation and validation
- Develops new test techniques and methods from existing practices or technical journals
For this role you will be experienced in some of the following:
- Hardware design
- Schematic Entry

DSP Engineer (Edinburgh or Newbury)
We are looking for a Senior / DSP Engineer to join our highly professional team.
You will be responsible for developing, integrating and supporting algorithm designs and complete solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with product definition teams to create leading-edge, differentiated feature-sets
- Develop new algorithms or complete solutions to meet required specification in the agreed timescale
- Simulate and optimise algorithm to meet performance specifications and software/hardware constraints
- Translate algorithms into optimised fixed point designs to run on memory constrained custom hardware or DSP cores
- Provide technical advice to hardware engineers on silicon implementation
Essential Skills:
- Good mathematical ability and solid knowledge of signal processing theory
- Fluent with Matlab/Simulink
- Knowledge and understanding of acoustics
- Strong experience in porting DSP code in MIPS and memory constrained processors
- Evaluation and analysis of audio algorithms running on DSP or audio hardware
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with good bug fixing skills across multiple audio elements

Senior CAD Engineer (Edinburgh)
We are looking for an Senior CAD Engineer to join our CAD team. They are looking to expand the team with an enthusiastic candidate who is keen to innovate around and improve their existing systems. The successful candidate will have access to a varied role covering computing infrastructure, software development, tool customisation and data management as well as providing front line assistance to engineers. You will work in a small team based in our Edinburgh office with senior colleagues providing coaching and mentoring.
A background in EDA support or IC Design with a proven interest in tooling is essential. The successful candidate could come from a variety of engineering / technical backgrounds where they have been able to demonstrate their ability to identify deficiencies in processes and how these could be improved, taking it through to successfully completed projects.
Technical skills:
- Cadence Virtuoso environment configuration and optimization
- SKILL language programming
- Programming / scripting skills in language such as C / Ruby / Perl / Python or similar
- Fluent in a command line computing environment (preferably RedHat Linux)
- Understanding of computing networks and effects on productivity
