The EVB provides an external SMB connection for input of the ADC clock. This can be configured to be either AC or DC coupled. Alternatively, an on-board crystal oscillator may be used to perform this function. Output from the EVB is via a 4-pin connector. The digital lines from the ADC are buffered before going to this connector. There is also a facility to convert the ADC output back into the analogue domain via a DAC, the output of which is available through an SMB connector.
In addition to the internal reference provided by the WM82 device, options are provided on the EVB to allow adjustment of the ADC reference via an onboard reference circuit.
This evaluation platform and documentation should be used in conjunction with the latest version of the WM82 datasheet. The datasheet gives device functionality information as well as timing and data format requirements.
