Edinburgh, UK, 15 January 2004 - The WM9712L, audio Codec and touchscreen interface controller from Wolfson Microelectronics (LSE:WLF.L) has been named ‘Best Consumer Combination Product’ in analogZONE’s Product of the Year awards.

The WM9712L is an ultra low-power, single-chip design that combines a streaming data touchscreen interface with Wolfson’s leading audio sub-system codec capability. The highly integrated WM9712L IC builds upon the features of previous generation products, cutting power consumption by more than half. It also adds new features, including an on-chip speaker driver, graphic equalizer, GPIO pins and 5-wire touchscreen support.

The analogZONE Product of the Year awards are given to products in the categories of data acquisition, audio/video technology, “green” engineering, high frequency and RF technology, I/O technology networking and power management. Winners are selected from the hundreds of products reviewed annually by analogZONE.
