Wolfson Microelectronics is pleased to announce the appointment of Glenn Collinson to the Board of Wolfson as a non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2008.

Mr. Collinson, aged 45, brings a wealth of industry expertise and knowledge to the Wolfson Board. He is recognised as a successful and innovative entrepreneur and leader, having expertly managed the growth and rise of Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR plc) from its roots as a start-up project in 1998 to its listing as a public company in 2004, first as Marketing Director and then as Sales Director.

Directorships in the last five years include director of Sonaptic Ltd from April 2005 until its sale to Wolfson in July 2007 and director of CSR plc. Since retiring from the Board of CSR in 2007, Mr. Collinson has taken up and currently holds positions as a non-executive director of DiBcom SA; a fabless semiconductor company manufacturing chipsets for low-power mobile and portable TV reception, a non-executive director of MicroEmissive Displays Group plc, the AIM listed designer and manufacturer of low-power light emitting polymer displays and a non-executive director of Inside Contactless SA, a fabless semiconductor company manufacturing chipsets for wireless payment and near field communications.

Prior to co-founding CSR, Mr. Collinson held positions including Senior Engineer and then Marketing Manager at Cambridge Consultants Ltd (1996-1998) and Design Engineer and Marketing Manager at Texas Instruments (1989 -1996). He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and holds a B.Sc. in Physics and an M.Sc. in Electronics from Durham University, as well as an MBA from Cranfield University.

Mr. Collinson will serve as a member of the Audit Committee of Wolfson.

No further details as required under Paragraph LR 9.6.13R of the Listing Rules of the Financial Services Authority remain to be disclosed in respect of Glenn Collinson’s appointment to the Board.
