Financier to join Wolfson board

Edinburgh, UK, March 05, 2002. Wolfson Microelectronics plc. has today announced the appointment of Barry Rose, formerly Chief Executive of Scottish Provident UK, to the board as a non-executive Director.
David Milne, CEO and Managing Director, welcomed the appointment saying, Barrys vast experience of executive management and of the financial community will be of enormous value to Wolfson as we develop our business. The endorsement of Wolfson by an individual with his considerable track record in successful investment will also serve to enhance our standing in the wider business community.
Barry Rose was Chief Executive of Scottish Provident UK from 1993 to 2001. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive, he was Head of Investments at Scottish Provident Institution backed up by more than 27 years investment experience. Barry is also a non executive Director of Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon plc and The Fleming Technology Trust plc. He is married, with two adult children.
