EDINBURGH, UK., -- December 9, 2002 – Wolfson Microelectronics, plc., a technical leader in developing audio ICs for multimedia and communications applications, received an award at the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) Awards Dinner last week. The award, for outstanding financial performance by a private company, was one of only four awarded in this category. Wolfson was the only non-US company. Others in the category include Atheros Communications, Cybercore Technology and Silicon Optics. In order to be considered for this award, companies must demonstrate that they have doubled either revenue or net-income over eight consecutive quarters ending Sept. 2002.
