WM0010: Low Power Audio DSP
The WM0010 is a compact digital signal processor that has been highly optimised for low-power audio applications. Extensive memory resources and core optimisation allow the device to manage all audio processing algorithms efficiently and autonomously, while the host processor sleeps or performs other tasks.
Glitch-free clock switching and frequency scaling is available for both internal clocks and SDI interface clocks. This enables rapid power versus performance optimisations to take place dynamically without interrupting real time audio streams.
Cross-triggering for multi-processor systems is available and a JTAG port is available for development and debug. The default device configuration is stored in a one-time programmable fuse array that is configured at the factory.
In addition to system software and algorithms provided by Wolfson Microelectronics the Tensilica HiFi2 core is widely used by many third-party software developers creating a large software reference design ecosystem. This ecosystem, Xtensa toolset and the WM0010 provide customers with increased platform scalability enabling the latest low power audio standards and features.
The WM0010 is supplied in a very small and thin W-CSP package, ideal for portable systems.
